Name: Lexa Roivas

Age: ??
Age Appearance: 20

Gender: Male
Species/Race: Human (Necrotheist)

Appearance:

Personality: Lexa is a kind-hearted person, for the most part, but is not naive to the evils of the world and the people that perpetuate them. Regardless, he is someone who believes that every living being has a spark of good within them and is always willing to give people a chance, even if their reputation is less-then-radiant. His trust has been betrayed time and time again in the past for this, however, making him wary of people though still willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

When alone, Lexa is usually seen with a pensive, almost sad expression on his face, as if reliving a terrible moment again and again in his mind. When with others, however, he strives to ease their concerns and worries, having a smile on his face at all times while imparting jokes and all kinds of fanciful tales, keeping things lively and cheerful with his companions.

Or, at least, he would if there were those who wanted to travel with him; for one reason or the other, some people seem put off or even fearful of him when they are close, as if he had some kind of stigma which wards them off completely and utterly. Although he has come to accept this odd characteristic he has, it does still affect him quite a bit and never ceases to sadden him when someone rejects him without getting to at least know him first.

Even so, he strives to help others and usually has no problem with going out of his way simply to do so. He doesn’t think of himself as a ‘hero’ or anything like that, having more of a “If I don’t do it, who will?” approach to most situations of this nature. He is no stranger to combat and makes a talented swordsman, using his skills to assist and help others as opposed to gaining power or putting coin in his pocket. He even has an understanding of healing magic and uses this to aid others eagerly, though how he knows it and where it came from is still a mystery to him.

Behind his helpful and kind personality, however, lies a dark, terrible monster that is more a creature of death then an actual human being. This side only surfaces when he is pushed to his very limit, however, and he is very careful in avoiding such situations less his ‘dark side’ is let loose. His greatest fear is succumbing to this dark persona of his being when in a town or city thriving with people and life....

He could not live with that kind of blood on his hands.

History: Unfortunately, Lexa suffers from amnesia, rendering any and all knowledge he has of his past lost in a fog of mystery. All that he really remembers is his name and his skills with the sword, though neither shed any light on his shrouded past. Ever since he ‘awoke’ to this new life of his, he grew to accept his predicament and found a way of living that suited him, becoming an adventurer while also hunting down dangerous creatures with like-minded individuals. When he does try to remember his past, he ends up with an awful headache and is bombarded with images of pain, blood, terror, and death.

Based on that alone, he is not sure if his past is something he wants to remember at all.

Occupation/Job: Adventurer/Hunter

Interesting Facts/Quirks: While usually coming off as being a sensible, calm person who is very hard to upset, he seems to get flustered and easily embarrassed when people bring up the subject of sex. He admits to never really having experienced such activities before (as far as he knows, anyway) and, therefore, has little to say of the matter. He also acknowledges the fact that he is only interested in men, but is still quite embarrassed to talk about his sexuality, not really thinking it to be a big deal and usually dropping the topic altogether after a sentence or two.

Some of his former companions even conspired to set him up with a particularly good-looking male in the past, though nothing came from it since he grew very indignant at their plot and stormed away in an unusually foul, if very flustered, mood. This is one of the few stories he doesn’t share with others.

He also seems to like animals and simply loves cats, kittens in particular. People who have traveled with him tell how it is both extremely adorable and disturbing to watch the young man drop everything he’s doing just to pet and admire them. There is even a story that he one time found a stray cat in the middle of a monster-ridden forest and, with conviction, held onto the cat with one hand while hacking and slashing his way through the monsters with the other, just so he could deliver it to the nearest animal shelter he could find.

Whether this story is real or not is for the listener to decide.

Hobby/Hobbies: helping out at animal shelters from time to time, writing poetry, hunting dangerous creatures

Likes: animals (cats and kittens the most), friendship, poetry, practicality, white roses, helping people, ice cream

Dislikes: people who intentionally harm others, being alone, holy icons, poachers, slavery, betrayal, materialism

Strength: He is a superior swordsman and has an unusually high resistance to pain, able to take more abuse than the average individual. When pushed past his limit, however, he enters into an almost berserk state, gaining access to deadly magics and an extremely terrible, black sword called Nez’Barrez, the Sword of Death.

Weakness/Flaw: He is a very sensitive and emotional person although he tries to hide it, allowing his feelings to be manipulated by those gifted in such intricacies. For someone who has been betrayed several times in the past, he is still too trusting for his own good, stubbornly holding fast to the belief that good exists in all. His ultimate weakness is the ‘dark side’ that lies within him, since he has little to no control over his actions when he enters that state. This has caused him to be somewhat fearful of his own self, striking a small blow to his self-confidence.

Anything else to add: For some reason he cannot explain, he has a limited amount of healing magic available to him, making him capable of rendering first aid to others who are in need of it. He also has a seemingly intrinsic, though limited, knowledge of medicinal herbs and procedures to use on wounded individuals.

Roleplay Sample:

“This city is filled to the brim! It’s a wonder so many can actually fit inside of it, really....” The mage, Searus, muttered to his other two companions, looking at all the people with an annoyed expression on his face. He was a man who enjoyed the quiet sanctity of his study, hardly being the social type at all.

Nel, the nimble thief, looked at the mage with a small smile, chuckling under his breath at his traveling companion’s disdain; it was good to know that he wasn’t the only thing that annoyed the antisocial Searus. “Eh, it ain’t too bad, Sear. ‘Sides, they’re all keeping to themselves, right? Nothin’ but a clear path ahead of us straight outta this little city! And it’s all thanks to our little People Deterrent here, eh?” Giving a small laugh, Nel patted Lexa on the back, the smaller one of the three.

Lexa rolled his eyes and offered a faint smile to Nel, opting not to say anything as he glanced around at the people avoiding them. Indeed, the three stuck out like a sore thumb, not because they looked that much different or seemed out of place amidst everyone. No, they stood out since the throngs of people on the street seemed to avoid them as if they were the plague, giving the three plenty of space as they passed by them. However, they weren’t avoiding the three in general: They were avoiding Lexa, the swordsman in the middle of the two, casting glances of suspicion and even fear his way.

He tried not to let the looks of the people affect him too much, being rather used to the reactions he elicited from others, though it always confused him as to why he had that effect on people. In truth, it would always be something he would never be able to simply ignore, especially the looks of dread and fear he summoned out of people. Glancing at a small girl being guided away from him by her mother and seeing the look of apprehension she had on her face, he quickly looked away and gave a small sigh.

He couldn’t wait to get out of this city and leave these people in peace.

Nel, noticing the sigh Lexa gave, looked in the direction the smaller male had glanced at and, upon catching the sight of a rather striking Life Elf, gave a wry smile. Nudging Lexa softly, he leaned and whispered, “Ohh... feelin’ a little needy, are we? You got some pretty good tastes, Lex! That IS a rather good-lookin’ man, if I do say so myself!” He gave a small snicker, giving Lexa a few more nudges and winks.

Lexa’s face immediately reddened in embarrassment, looking up at Nel with an expression of shock. “W-What are you talking about, Nel?! I wasn’t thinking anything like that!”

“Sure ya weren’t, sure ya weren’t,” Nel rolled his eyes and folded his arms, another snicker escaping him as he looked at the flustered state of Lexa. “Why don’t ya go talk to him, Lex? And if the two of you DO hit it off, Sear and I won’t mind staying at an inn for the night while you go off and have your, uh, fun!” He winked at the young man.

Lexa was at a loss of what to say, completely flustered at all the things Nel was saying. Then, with a small huff, he turned away from the thief and folded his arms, quickening his pace to place a little more distance between him and the jeering man. “I could care less to have any fun with anyone, Nel! Now, be quiet and keep up; the sooner we’re out of this city, the better!” His tone was slightly indignant as he continued on his path, trying to hide his flustered appearance from Nel.

Nel snickered and shrugged in defeat, giving the mage a small look of mirth before attempting to catch up with the annoyed Lexa. Searus scowled and rubbed his temples; he couldn’t wait to get this little adventure of theirs over with so he could finally abandon the two to their devices.
