The giggle that escaped him no matter how hard he tried to keep it in, was well on it's way to becoming a full fledged laugh. This big man was going to be watching him? Was that what he was trying to say? He giggled again and then snorted, slapping a hand in front of his mouth at the odd sound. He realised he was being quite rude, not telling the other what was so funny and waved a hand at him, trying to catch his breath and share the joy.

"Oh, really, sorry. I didn't mean to laugh at you like that, it's just so very funny!" Wiping away a tear of mirth from the corner of his eyes, Raven looked at Merry again, trying to gauge his intelligence level. The man seemed to be a mute, loyal to his Captain and yet he didn't seem to be part of the rest of the crew. Must be a special case then. Bailey called himself the Captain and the crew did follow his commands, yet he got the feeling that this wasn't his usual crew. It was in the way they dealt with each other.

Regardless, this man seemed to be part of his permanent flock. He also seemed to be quite the unusual character. So much fun to mess with head like this. So, Raven set up his prettiest smile for the man and skipped forward until they were mere paces away from each other. "You will be watching me, correct?" He let the silence rest for a moment before taking another step forward, until he was standing next to Merry and cocked his head. A massive smirk took over his face and he turned his head to look at Merry again before continuing in a song song voice.

"Well, you better watch closely then, because I'm gonna eat your Captain~!" With that said, he skipped forward and joined the helmsman at the rudder to see where they were going.

Merry was glad. The man picked up on his gestures and interpreted them the right way – it didn’t happen very often. Especially not with Bailey around, because that man had quite the imagination when it came to Merry’s gesturing and would often device stories that were way off target. The fisherman was also glad he could write, though his handwriting, vocabulary and grammar were severely lacking. So he had at least a few ways of communicating despite his voice being gone.

He didn’t more away when Brennan skipped up to him and stepped close to him. Merry wasn’t bothered by the invasion of his personal space. Hanging out with Bailey had successfully cured him of that, if he’d had any inhibitions at the first place. That fake smile, however – involuntarily, it send another shiver down Merry’s spine. He was a bad judge of character (he hardly ever judged), but every fibre of his body seemed to instinctively be telling him to stay on guard. It was confirmed when Brennan spoke next: “Well, you better watch closely then, because I'm gonna eat your Captain~!”

This made Merry less glad. He frowned as he watched after the man skipping to the other side of the ship. Had he heard right? Had Brennan just threatened to eat Bailey? Merry couldn’t begin to phantom how on earth that would come to pass. Humans were too big to eat. Probably not tasty, either. He wondered if this was one of those funny cases Bailey had mentioned to report to him. He’d said he’s kill Brennan if he tried anything. So far, the man had behaved himself, right? And Merry reckoned Bailey would most definitely notice if someone would start to gnaw on his bones.

So with a yawn and a shudder, the broad-shouldered fisherman trudged after Brennan in a lazy manner, intent on following Bailey’s order and keep an eye on him throughout their journey together.

[Time-skip, if that allright with you guys, don't really want to play our hours of sailing....o.0]

Hours of watching water go by, seeing the occasional big fish or something pass them and mindless crew annoying finally got to Raven's patients. It had run out. He was bored and damnit if someone was not going to entertain him right this instance. So, with a determined grin, he snuck away from Merry and into the bowels of the ship to find that delectable little sailor boy he had set his eyes on earlier.

After a few minutes of searching he located the boy doing some work for the cook and he quickly nabbed him, one arm around his neck and the other covering his mouth before dragging him back into the shadows and down to the absolute bottom of the ships insides where he tied the kid up.

"There there..." The boy seemed to be quite terrified and his shudders might rattle things that needed be rattled, so Raven took it upon himself to calm the boy down. Of course that might not have the desired effect.

"Hush now, it's not going to be painful at all." He licked a long, wet line from the exposed collarbone up to the tip of his chin and trailer back over his jawline to give a final teasing flick of his tongue against the boys earlobe before going down and sucking on his neck. "Ohh... you have the most divine taste." A soft moan escaped him at the idea of what the rest of his meal would bring him and he chuckled again the throat, sending vibrations through the boy and unleashing yet another series of shudders in the tied body.

Frowning, he tapped his own chin in thought. That simply wouldn't do. "You really should hold still. Wait, here we go." His hand curled around the boys face, cupping it as a lover might do. The boy's breath hitched and tears came down his face. A whispered plea for freedom went unheard and Raven closed the distance between the two of them as if he would kiss the boy, changing direction at the last moment and licking away the salty tear marks before he pushed his forehead up against the boys. "You know, I really do feel honoured. You shall be a very treasured meal. Innocence is such a rare treat these days..."

A light peck on the boys lips and then a quick snap and his neck was broken. Picking up a piece of rope he tied the boys head to the pole as well to make sure it wouldn't droop down. This form of breaking was an art he had mastered quite some years ago. The boys eyes followed his movements with a sort of wary acceptance. He smiled at the boy and nodded. "See? Much better now."

With that, he got down to business, using his sharp nails to scratch a circle of symbols around the boy before crawling over and settling himself in the boys lap. "Almost as if we were lovers." He giggled and cupped the boys face again, moving his lips closer to those of the boy before sealing them together. With his fingers he forced the boys jaw and with a groan of satisfaction he swirled his tongue around in the hot cavern offered to him, sucking at the soul he knew to be hiding in that body somewhere.

The energies flowed over him like the hot caress of a lover and he moaned again at the intoxicating feeling of power filling him. Tilting his hips forward a little, he groaned when he rubbed his semi-erect cock against the boys pelvis. Pulling back a bit, panting, he licked his lips and looked the wide eyed boy in the eyes before grinning like the loon he was. "Like I thought.... delicious."

Diving back in to finish the job, he closed his eyes with pleasure and felt his body tremble as the soul finally completed it's travels to enter his mouth and be devoured. His orgasm hit him at the same time the ritual was completed and he could feel the soul settle in the empty space that had been created during his little drifting stint. Finally. He hated it when there was a hole in his reserves. It hadn't been filled yet, but still. He had a ship full of food.

Completely sated and feeling all nice and tingly, he sat up and cleaned up after his meal. After all, it wouldn't do for the mice to know that a snake had come on board.

[The boy might have been a year or 17, but no younger. Just felt like specifying. He just called him boy because he's such a grandpa.]

Merry had been very diligent in his guard dog job. He followed Brennan around wherever he went, shadowing the man like an over-sized, shaggy puppy. He had been so very diligent that the big man had managed to tire himself out to the point he couldn’t keep his eyes open anymore. And seeing as Brennan was on his best behaviour, Merry reckoned he could allow himself a nap. Propping himself up against one of the rain water barrels set on deck, he was able to watch Brennan stare out at the water with one eye, while he closed the other to rest. Needless to say, both eyes were soon closed and Merry drifted away into a peaceful nap that was only disturbed by his quiet snoring.

He dreamt of water surrounding him, a crushing feeling threatening to snap his lungs apart. Was he drowning? An honorable death for a fisherman, Merry reckoned. But when he looked at his own hands, he was no fisherman anymore. His fingers were webbed and with a painful pop! his lungs gave out. He wanted to cough and wheeze, but found he could breathe in a different way. Had he become one with the ocean? The simple silver engagement ring on his finger was gone as well.

The only thing that wasn’t gone, was Bailey’s presence. The captain slung an arm around his shouders and talked to him in a language he couldn’t understand – or was it the water distorting the sound? Bailey didn’t seem to have any trouble in the water. He just laughed and laughed, bubbles escaping his mouth as he did so. Merry wasn’t sure, but he though Bailey rather looked like a puffer fish with a hat on. He frowned.

A shadow fell over them and puffer fish Bailey hid behind Merry as a humongous squid towered over them. It was big and black and had the grin of a madman. A grin Merry recognized: it was Brennan’s.

Pushing his eyes open, Merry woke from the dream with a dreadful feeling at the pit of his stomach. His first instinct was to find Bailey and tell him what a good puffer fish he would make, but he had promised the captain to keep an eye on their ‘guest’. The fisherman wasn’t able to spot Brennan so with a soundless groan, the big man pushed himself up and dusted off his dirty clothes, stretching languidly before heading off in a lazy trudge in search of the Raven. Around him he could hear someone calling for one of the younger cabin boys, but the call went unanswered.

[First, my apologies on my absence. Work has been hectic. *twitch* And I have been trying to get in contact with our dear Foxy but to no avail. Did you manage to get in contact with them, Katsu?]

Bailey stared on top of the deck in the bird's nest with a dull, glazed eyed look towards the sea. He had been there too long to be considered normal, his skin now having gotten chilled and perhaps even a bit pale. But he always kept his nose directed towards the wind. The crew occasionally looked up but said nothing. They didn't want to seem weak and tell him to get down in fear of their Captain getting a cold. Then, all of a sudden, his eyes sparkled with light and he leaned forward. But from what could be seen there was nothing to be seen from the distance. "Finally!" He yelled out in pleasure before he turned and tightened his hands on a long rope that trailed from where he was to the deck.

He jumped from it, and slid down until he landed on his feet on the deck. Bailey landed well and looked around anxiously. "Merry! MERRY! We're goin' to shore!" He said, quickly beginning to zip around to find the other. "Hey, Merry! Where are you?"

Looking like a child trying to find his puppy, the Captain gave a rather sad-eyed look. He wasn't used to not having his Merry by his side. "Meeeerrryyyyyy!"

[Don't worry about it dearie, though we're glad to have you back! <3]

The ship wasn't huge. Large enough to get disorientated if one wasn't familiar with naval contraptions, but not big enough to shake Merry up. Still, he had not managed to find Brennan. It had to be said that Merry hadn't done a very good job searching all the nooks and crannies of the cabins. He just wandered his way around, occasionally side-stepping in tune with the cadence of the ship to move out of the way of a crew member who actually was working. Would Bailey be mad at him for losing Brennan? It was such a simple task, really. How could he screw up? Lips set in a grim line of determination, the big fisherman continued on.

He made another round, the sound of his his leather slippers slapping down the hallways drowned out by the wet creaking of wood and the gulfing sound of the surf hitting the ship's side. Eventually, Merry ended up on deck again in time to hear his name be called. It was such a desperate childlike whine, that Merry couldn't help but feel his heartstrings pulled. How could anyone ignore a call like that?

It shouldn't have surprised him to find Bailey calling for him in such a voice, but somehow the childlike pout and the sad look on his face made Merry wonder. How old was their captain? Surely, they couldn't differ that much from each other in age? But Bailey could be such a little boy! Was it Merry's task to protect him? Like a little brother? The big man remembered Brennan's words and frowned. Had Bailey already been nibbled on? The captain seemed alright.

It took him three big steps to reach Bailey, placing his calloussed hand on the other man's shoulder and squeezing, as if to say not to worry: he was there. Plastering a goofy grin on his face that would most certainly please the captain, Merry whipped out the tiny pirate flag on a stick he carried with him and waved it around in an attempt to make the other smile again.
